Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor is an action and science fiction television (TV) anime based on the manga publication of the Guyver series. It was written by Yoshiki Takaya (Takaya Yoshiki), and produced by Kadokawa Shoten and Guyver Production Partners. The Guyver TV series was known as the Guyver Project at its debut when it was announced at the Tokyo Anime Fair 2005 ( to ). The first season of the Guyver TV series was aired from to . Every week at 19:00, the Guyver TV series was aired in Japan on the WOWOW television station. During the course of its first season, 59 chapters (10 volumes or books) of the Guyver manga storyline were told. However, this series was the last video series based on the Guyver manga publication to be produced.
Sources have indicated that the Guyver TV series had ended after its first season. The reason for the discontinuation of the Guyver TV series is not officially known. However, rumour has it that the creator and writer of the Guyver manga, Yoshiki Takaya, requested for the animation company of the TV series to stop production of the anime. As this is only a rumour, the original source of this information is also not known.
During the Max Factory 25th Anniversary event on , Akiyama Takuro of Good Smile Company and Yoshiki Takaya had confirmed that there were no plans currently in set for producing any future anime of the Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor series.
